Feeding:Typical diet of a 3 month old

My son is 3 months and 2 weeks old. He used to have excellent weight gain in the first 2 months, but has slowed down in the previous 2 or 2 weeks. He gains around 4 to 5 oz a week now. He is fed around 5 or 6 times in a 24 hour period with breastmilk and formula on an alternate basis. How much formula should he normally be having in one feeding ? He hardly takes 3 oz at a time. I read on some websites that the babies his age should be taking 6 to 8 oz at a time, but I guess thats the number for American or European babies who are genetically bigger than our babies. Please let me know what our babies should eat in a single feeding. He was 6 lbs and 11 oz at birth and now weighs 13 lbs.
Thanks...
