hi.my husband has been diagnosed with varicocele in his left tertis.can medications help or surgery the only solution?can anyone share their personal experience of varicocele surgery ?thx.

hi rene ,
my hubby was having the same prob. He had a surgery. it's a small surgery takes about 20-30 minutes u can go home same day .
Body starts making better sperms after 4 months.
If u hav any questions plz let me know.

so is ur hubbys count normal now?have u been able to concieve?for 4 years now doctors have taken me for a ride.nothing seems to be wrong with me and his sperm count was always low so we were subjected to IUI's..not once the doctor suggested the dopple for my husband.had we got it done we would have saved so much time.its lately that we decided to have a second opinion and went to a urologist.and we got to know about varicocele.had we not gone on time to this urologist,my doctor was suggesting a laproscopy for me.its so frustrating when doctors are so money minded.
urologist said that he wont do laproscopic correction for varicocele.he would open it up and do it.is that how it was done for ur husband?urologist also said that my husband would have to be in the hospital for 3 days.we are so confused.pls guide me.thx a lot.

More than varicocele what's essential to know at this stage is semen analysis. If he has low sperm count as 5million/cc or 30% or lesser than that motility rate then surgery won't be of that help. this problem however can only be rectified by surgery at Urologist's clinic.

should you want to get pregnant then have his semen analysis done and lets know what option you can try for.

his count is 19.2 millions/ml and motility says 40%active,30%sluggish and 30%non motilemorphology is normal.pls let me know if u need any other info.thx a ton.
