Hetal I hope you are finding your self in good health. You are angel of this site.
My son will be completing 7 months by this week. Currently I give him moong dal, vegetables & apple. Apple I serve him a one feed. He could take almost 3/4 apple. Vegetables and dal mixed with cerelac.
1) Is it too much to give 3/4 apple?
2) I have started sweet potato, carot. What vegetables more I can give him now? some green vegetables?
3) Currently I give him only moong dal mixed with cerelac. can I give him toor dal also?
4) From one of the Hetal's post by the time he is 9 months old, baby is expected to eat 5 different coloured fruits and 5 different coloured vegetables. What fruits/vegetables are recomended?
Thanks

Hetal replied. 1. as far as his other intakes are not disturbed, i dont mind the amt of fruit serving he is taking !
2.start your child with spinach,green peas and thn beans. also by the time he is 8months, introduce tomatos, cauliflower, brocolli, and squash.
3.avoid toor dal as of now,best to start as a part of diet/soups after 8months.But,you can add in like a pinch and see how he deals with gas or heaviness with it..offer dal with lots of water, crryleave tadka with hing in ghee with crushed jeera,,it will avoid gas,,offer the straineed dal(no tadka in mouth of baby),,
add in to his khichadi,,offer dal pani with boiled rice and lots of vegies alternatives.
about fruits too, you can start with pears, peaches, banana.. avoid pomegranate as of now,,and you can start with avacado from now onwards.
also start with strawberries,,
all the starting or introduction part of thing,,dpends on how your child responds to one food in particular time,,after the intake,,so go accordingly.
by the time he is 9months, see if he is able to accept all the vegies and fruits so that after that you can concentrate on multigrains, other dal options and various mixed grains alternatives,,,
let me complete the last sentence ::::::;;
by the time your child is 9months old, your baby should be able to eat 5 diff fuits and 5 diffnt coloured vegies IN ONE DAY..thats how it goes !
check these below and it wil give you idea about other things to give//keep them saved for your ref, and read as and when you need !! :
