HI FOLKS !! MY BABY IS ABOUT 8 MNTHS OLD & I WANT TO WEAN HIM OFF. ANY SUGGESTIONS HOW TO START ? HE HAS ABOUT 3-4 MEALS A DAY LIKE BISCUIT / MILK [ COW'S MILK ] , DAL . RICE, CERALAC.... PLS ADVICE HOW SHOULD I START WEANING HIM OFF. HE DOES NOT HAVE ANY SCHEDULE OF BREAST FEEDING. I FEED HIM ON DEMAND AND HE KEEPS WAKING UP AT NIGHT TOO FOR FEEDING. PLS HELP ME.

Hi Sheetal,
First of all donot feed him in the middle of the night.I am advising you this b'coz I have suffered a lot b'coz of this..My baby is almost 12 months old but she still gets up at night and doesnot sleep till she is nursed,but doctor's say let her cry for a while and she will sleep by herself,it has worked for all my friends..I hope this works for you too.I am trying the same.

HI SR,
My son is 7.5 months old. He is also going through the same stage. He wakes up at nights for breast feeding but as my doctor advised me also not to feed him. I have stopped feeding him. Sometimes, he cries for 1 hour and goes to sleep on his own. Sometimes, i give him water in the sipper cup, he drinks it and goes to sleep. It is very painful sometimes. In starting he cried a lot bu t later on crying time reduced. So, it worked out :-)..Still, he wakes up sometimes. Let me know your experiences and suggestion might help me. One thing i might try is feed him solid right before he goes to sleep so he will not be hungry and sleep well through the night...
