Hi Archie

yest my friend told me that our cervix comes forward during ovulation and it remains facing forward if u conceive.it doesnt go back.if u are not preg then uterus will go back which will be difficult to reach thru fingers.how far is this true?
again she told me after ovulation if white discharge comes it means u didnt conceive in this cycle.i am surprised to hear such a thing cause one of my cousin did have discharge when she conceived.can u clear my dilemma?
can u tell me what are the earlier symptoms of preg as soon as one conceive.
thanks

Apara,
your cousin seems to have confusion with terms and understand how cervix positions throughout the cycle.

Let me explain in breif: A menstrual cycle consist of three phases, follicular (before ovulation), ovulation and Luteal phase (post ovulation).

Druing follicular phase your cervix is low and hard like nose tip and can be tought to reach by your fingertips.

During ovulation when body starts produiing luteinizing hormone and excess of estrogen let move cervix from low to mid and to up allowing slit of the ceric to widen and open to let the sperm move. At this time cervix is not hard rather it's soft and can be felt by fingertips.

Once you are ovulated body starts producing progesterone and cervix again goes to low position and hard like nose tip. I don't this this is any different for the women who conceived and who has not.

Vaginal discharge is one of the many early pregnancy symptoms and what your friend told is exactly opposite. If vaginal discharge is associated with increased urination frequency, predominant veins on breast, some light heads, nausea then there is high possibility of pregnancy although it may still be too easy to judge because actual missing period and elevating hCG levels confirm your pregnancy.
