if you are in US, you get microwave steaming bowl which are just

right for instant baby food boiling/steaming..these are small and big

as well,,bigger ones are often called microwave steamers,,see if you

can get them !
alternately,,instead of putting water inside the carrots,,try this :

1. make the carrots pieces in long finger like pieces,,thin as well

thick enough just like french fries.

2. put these on the plastic mesh or a cotton cheese cloth (often

available in market, kitchen section),,

3. take a bowl which accepts this mesh diameter upto half the level

of its size !

4. place the mesh or the cloth in the bowl in a way its above water

or touches the water just abit,,,

5. put the carrots in those mesh and cover the whole bowl with some

cotton napkin(that is damp with cool water or) cover the bowel with

some plastic microwave cover..

6. keep in exact middle of the microwave and cook it for

5-8mins..carrrots/fresh fries like cut pieces(some 5-10pieces) are

done by then !
use that water in other foods !

Or cook the carrots with a pinch of salt,,make sure they immerse

well in salted water(or avoid filtered water for cooking,,use tap

water/mineral water)..
salt/minerals makes cooking process easy,,before offering your

child,,just soak and wash the pieces gently with cool water,,salt

mostly drains off,,,and very lil negligble amt stays back in food !!!!!

hope this works for you too !!
good luck

cut into pieces, then add enough water and cook in microwave. once they are soft you can drain the water or even use that water for making other food.keep a track of how much time it takes to cook it thoroughly..too long might make it hard.
