Hi my son is in his 8 months. he has a tendency to cold cough and wheeze. can i give him gerber oatmeal which has bananas in it?
it is gerber oatmeal with apple sauce and bananas.

mst of the outside cereal foods contains flavorng OR processd fruit powders,,,,so its unlikely that banana natural tendency to increase mucus in cold and cough will be still be strong enough...check on the ingrediants,,,if it has 100% natural dried banana pwder thn its better to avoid as of now,,try other flavored ones,,and if it contains only flavourngs,,its ok to give !

offer your child for 2-3days,,, and see if he is sensitive to cold with ripe banana....i just read the other contents of gerber,,
it should not b a problem because when combined with other foods has not given ne cold effects !
also, i would rather suggest you to offer your child plain gerber oatmeal and offer along with other fruits !
or rather keep the fruit serving as a sep serving itself,,and instead offer cereal with only one fruit or diluted fruit juice...
dont give one type of food,,,this will not give you ne doubts and you will be able to offer your child variety of cereals with lots of fruit options !
