Hi,

My 5 1/2 moth baby girl doesn't like bottle feeding. We r feeding her with spoon only. I hv to travel to Pune in Dec'06, it is 31/2 hrs journery. Pls. advise how to feed her in train. Breasting feeding is one option, but I think that will not suffice her hunger, pls. let me knw any other options r there.

Regards,

SMITA

Hi Smitha

First thing is enjoy the journey with ur baby.... let her have fun.. show her all the new things around her.... talk to her and have fun....

My advice / suggestions to u r :

- U can carry Nestle cerelac, and some hot water in a flask. When its time to feed u can mix it in a small bowl and feed her... and since its train journey.. U do not have to worry about feeding on journey...

- Its good that ur baby does not like to drink in the bottle.. do not force her... give her water in the spoon..

- Since its only 3 1/2 hour journey.... maybe if ur baby does not like cerelac... U can take home cooked meal.... pack it in a leak proof lunch box and feed it to her just before u reach ur destination or just when u get into the train based on when she is hungry...

- Another idea is .. U can feed her full tummy before u guys go to the railway station.... and put her to sleep if it is night journey or let her have a nap if it is day journey... and maybe once she gets up and if she is hungry...U can breast feed her if u r comfortable to feed on train or U can give her food... the easiest food is cerelac.... coz u just have to carry hotwater....

- Plz do keep one thing in mind do not try to wash her feeding bowl or spoon in the train bathroom or anywhere outside.... just wipe it with a cloth and put it in a plastic cover and put it in ur bag. Maybe u can use the leftover hot water from the flask....

- do not give her any kind of outside food or water... carry water and snacks for her from home... and also when u r in relatives home... boil the water cool it and give her....

I hope my suggestions help U... have a nice journey....
