Hi all,

Right now i am using Electric pump from hospital .. i rented for a month.. heard from LC that i shld b using this at the initial stages coz this will increase the milk supply..

i wanna kn when can i start using Manual Pump.. it will be handy and whenever we go out will b easy to pump and feed the baby...

Is it necessary to use Electric pump for atleast 3 months or so..

experienced moms pls do suggest..

I suggest you to use evenflowbreastpump(eletric&battery) this is very good one , i used it for one year . Whn u are out also u can pump in car also .I Deepa replied. Hi,
I highly recommend The Medela (pump in style) electric pump for everyday use.
It works wonderfully and is time efficient and worth every penny you spend for it.It is not noisy as many other pumps.
I have been using it for the past 6 months and i am fully satisfied.
Regular pumping does improve the milk supply.

I used to use Avent Isis Manual pump which is good but is very tiresome and also time consuming.It is good for occasional pumping.

My own experience has been that Hospital Grade electric Pump works the best. I have a 7 month old baby and used electric pump for 6 months. Manual pumps are not very easy to use as far as time and comfort is concerned. Manual pump will be ok if you are planning to use pump occassonaly. My daughter was totally on expressed breast milk for atleast 5 months.
