Womens Issues:Need some suggestions on how u plan ur cooking??

I work full time and leave at 8 in the morning and come back at 7 in the evening. And I feel that the time I or my husband is at home is mostly gone in the kitchen.. My husband likes fresh food mostly. But these days its becoming very tiring and frustrating for both of us and all our energy is drained by washing dishes, eating and then washing dishes…..

We come home in the evenings, eat something then while i start to cook for dinner.. by the time it will be 8.30 pm ..We both will be dead tired so just spend the remaining time staring at the telly..

Waking up in the morning by 6, prepare some breakfast, sometimes idli/dosa and preparing a curry and sambar for lunch so half of ur energy is gone in the beginning of the day itself.. Is this common in every household?? Am I overreacting?? Please suggest me some ideas to spend some quality time in the weekdays and some planning tips.. Thanks guys…

If you like fresh food then try the following. I used to do this and this works out.

Cut the veggies in the weekend and put it in a zip loc or air tight box.

Cut onions [I used to do some lengthy for sambar and small pieces too] and keep it seperately.

Take lunch as previousday dinner. You can keep only rice if you want.

If you are doing any tomato dish , cut and keep it in the microweave for 5 mins[ take ut every 2 min and stir it].and that' s done

Veggies , put very less water , cover it and cook in the mucrowave and do the other stuff.

I think you are only two. Then for sure , you' ll not use more than 5 dishes. Wash it immediately after the work is done.

Believe me , I am finishing my cooking within 1/2 our - 1 hour with complete cleaning of the kitchen with the baby.

Out of all think cooking is for relaxation and not for creating tension. It' s quite easy if you plan it

Hello,

I read yr problems.
my opinions are below

1) In weekdays u can prepare so many different items of vegetables for 2-3 days and can keep in the fridge. Before take to eat, heat the same in the micro ovan for one minute. In this way u can save the time also will not get tired.
2) In the micro ovan also u can prepare some foods in less time.
3) If u can energy in the morning for work, then u can prepare the food for the evening and keep it in the fridge, before use u can hot it.
4) While preparing the rice and sambhar u can do it in the big cooker (where three vessel is there for cooking) ie in one vessel rice and in the another vessel dal, it will save time.
5) If u get up early in the morning that is 5 am u can do it easily without any hurry.
