We have been trying to conceive since 6 months… I have irregular periods. My doc put me on glucophage saying that it would bring my periods back to normal. I tried glucophage for about 2 months, my periods did not become regular and also we did not conceive. The doc has now put me on 50 mg clomid (day 3 to 7). This is my first cycle. So I took 1500 mg glucophage along with clomid this cycle. The doc asked me to try from day 10 to 20 and said she will check my progentrone level on Day 21. Today is 14th day. My question was that I have extremely bad backache since 4-5 days. Is it because of clomid and glucophage together? Also how safe are these drugs? Should we also stop trying after day 21. Please help.

P.S. The doc has not taken any tests and also I did my yearly check up but the doc did not tell me I have PCOS. Should I ask her if I have PCOS??

Hate to say but looks like treatment is sort of PCOS related. you have right to know and you should ask on next visit.
yes, combined treatment of glucophage and clomid will help getting trouble out even with PCOS. I don't think you would need IC from day 20 onward, just that if clomid is going to help ovulate then it would be around CD13-CD14, the backache you experienced could be early ovulation signs or side effects of drug, goes both ways.

you should keep relaxed and IC once 24 or 48 hours till CD20 and that should keep all in order. Let me know your Progesterone levels on CD21.
