Trying since long:New to the Group!

Name: Lubs

Hello everybody:
I am new to the group. We have been trying since a while. I have irregular periods. The doctor has put me on Clomid. Today is day 5 of my cycle. Any suggestions, when we should perform IC? Also I went through different postings. Can anyone please tell me the full form of IUI??

Thanks,
Maggie

Since your periods are irregular it is better that you get your blood test done in order to know the hormonal profile like THYROID , FSH, LH, PROLACTIN, SERUM INSULIN ETC. The blood hormonal profile will give the doctor an idea asto what medication to prescribe in order to help you regularise your periods and also to help you conceive.

IUI stands for Intra uterine insemination and is a noninvasive procedure. In this the sperm sample is washed and directly inseminated into the uterus via the vagina using a very fine catheter just prior to and after ovulation depending upon the doctor. It is a simple process. It is done in conjuction with sonography to know the follicle (egg) size , ovulation time.

If u need more information pls feel free to ask.

Hi Lubs.. Welcome to our forum.. Here you'll find a lot of girls in pretty much the same boat as u and we all support each other thru the up's and downs of ttcing.
:)
To answer your q's..
1. Since u have irregular periods, u'd have to monitor the ovulation through an OPK or scans. When u know that you're starting to ovulate, go for IC. 2. IUI- Intra Utrenal Insemination.

Also some additional tips. First and foremost, don't make TTCing the be all and end all of life. Try not to be too stressed, this is pretty tough, even the best of us tend to go thru depression and obsession at the very least.. Be cheerful, enjoy your relationship with your hubby. Ignore people who may ask u dumb questions like are u planning yet? or how come u don't have any kids, or isn't it time u had a kid.. There's no shutting them up, it's best to just ignore and put up. Never give up hope.
Physical tips, drink lots of water, eat fresh fruits and veggies, walk a lot, try to stay as fit as possible. If you're overweight shed as much as possible.
Any more q's u can always share with us. :)
Take care and all the best.
Love,
Sunshine
