hope u remember me posted abt my newborn's pain whie passing bowels and bf after 4 days ??well my story was totally a spelling mistake..but by god's grace me n my baby are healthy.baby iz now 3 weeks old.
i was induced three weeks earlier (without informing me bcuz my gyn/obs had an outsideindia trip after 2 weeks).i was very healthy through out my pregnancy.no mornin sickness no other preg
discomforts.even my gyn was happy with my reg checkup results.and evevryone says i look energetic.i didnot had any fluid retention prob or anything.
and i was goin for regular walks, doin prenatal exercises etc.baby's head engaged by 34 weeks.but 3 weeks b4 my duedate they induced me n after 12 hrs of labour i delivered 3.250 kg's of my lil angel.i had 1 small tear and i still dunt undertsna dwhy they put me under anesthesia to sew me up..anyone heard of thiz??
and after i wakeup after 1 hr asked my baby..they took me to the room..they brought my baby my baby only after 6 hrs..they said baby was bit yellowish so they kept baby under bililight n they used to keep all babies like thiz ..my mom asked wunt the baby feel hungry..they answered they had given dextrose solution to baby....and i tryied to bf baby but baby didinot latch..and my baby passed her bowels with loud scream 8 hrs after her birth...and scramed for urinating too..we took baby to the doctor but they answered very careless(like feed her water, dress her properly etc.)i was trying to bf for four days ..only on 4th day she latched..untill they they iidnot allow us to give formuls..was giving only water..she was creaming each n evevrytime when she pees or poops..her meconium was so hard like roti batter consistency..

anyways those days were hell for me n thank god she n me doing fine now..her pain gone but still she passes hard poop but ped sais itz ok.now i feel that i shud have taken some action against the hospital..but bcuz of pps i was tottaly out of control n upset...now i am returning back to normal..baby's current weight iz 2.750 kg's lost 1/2 kg....hope she will gain weight soon..

i very well rem your post reg..but the things explained were differnt thn what you mentiond now,,neways,,

i am not a pregnancy expert or gyn so i cant help with your pregnancy issues,,
but with some information that i have the below links and sites might help you :
http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/fetaldevelopment/whenheadengage/

i know onething though,,if baby head is engaged it does not mean that delivery happens unless and until you are having continuous contractions that are last min contractions or are for long duration for 5mins or so, and they are occur at every specific intervals like eevery 10mins or so...

But baby head engaged is a sign that your baby is getting ready to come out and the delivery may be in days or weeks...depnding on further progression.

in my case during my delivery of first baby, my baby head was engaged at 38weeks and i was asked my gyn to take rest and avoid walking,,so i was easily able to reach upto 40weeks and thn my mucus plug startd to break,,and thn labour startd..

and while sewing,m not sure of the place you are staying/deliverd but in US, most of the sewing of tearng does not require full anesthesia..unless the tear is very long or mother is having excess bleeding...this is what i know about it,,you can visit few pregnancy boards that are due in this month and you will come to know other details..it all dpends on how your health status was during that time.

about baby being yellowish, is the sign of bith/mild jaundice and thats the reason they offerd him dextrose solution...which is again surprisng for me.

but during jaundice drs in US, esp..recmnd Breastfeeding,,as breastfeeding reduces the risk of jaundice and babies when breastfeed more often recovers better thn he would on dextrose solution...

so m still surprised by the policies of the hospital you deliverd.
even though i had emergency c section, my baby was brght to me in 2hours because my shiverng stopped a bit late,,but by that time baby was badly hungry and i was asked to breastfeed..and thats how they do it everywherre...

in first couple of weeks, expect wght loss of your baby upto 500grams,,but more thn that, ask your dr, if your baby has recoverd fully from jaundice and is not having ne other complications...

and yes, if i were you, i would def change the hospital or your baby dr at the same hospital,,, this hospital is not practicng good standards,,thats for sure.

good luck !
