Hello,
My problem is that I hardly got milk. I tried a lot of houseold method to increase the milk. But unfortunately its been 4 months and the milk is just to next to nil. I feel bad feeding my child with formula feed. I try to hard to latch my baby to the breast but nowadays she refuses to touch it. and pump does not work as there is very less milk. I feel bad

i thought i'd have to stop breastfeeding after a month and a half because i was producing so little milk. i just kept feeding and feeding to build my supply back up. expressing some milk may also help(and you could always store it). i felt guilty after about 2 months about giving any formula (gave a bottle a day from 3 weeks until 2 months). i've wanted to give up so many times because sometimes it really hurts(my 4 month old girl started teething at three weeks) but i just kept strong with it, and i'm glad i did. there are lots of great reasons to breastfeed. just believe in yourself and be strong!

My problem is my daughter will not take a bottle at all and wants to feed constantly. How do I get her to take a bottle?

i tried so hard to get my baby to take a bottle, and at first she refused. think of this= if you're really really hungry, you'd eat just about anything, right? if your baby is really hungry, your baby will take that bottle

Suki,
My name is Stacy I have breatfeed for two weeks now. I have times when I am engorged and pump. The past couple of days I have been giving Zachary formula and he has been sleeping better. I have been a zomby sleepy all the time. It is hard when your hubby works nights. I told my hubby tonight I think I am going to formula. Trust me I feel bad also. Let me know if things get better since your child is older than mine. Good luck to you.

few points for you...
-keep nursing your baby ... the more you nurse the more milk you will make ... supply and demand ...
- even if you think your breasts are empty put baby to breast ... milk is produced when baby sucks...
- eat healthy food ... do not diet ... drink plenty of water
- there are things you can take to increase milk supply ... find out about that and start taking it ... methi seeds are very good and i see a increase in milk supply whenever i take it
- visit wwwdotkellymomdotcom for excellent information...
- last but not the least ... its never too late to overcome any kind of bfing problems ... never too late to increase supply either ...
- i had issues till about 7-8 weeks ... but now im still bfing at 7 months and doing great ....
good luck u can do it

hi,

what i meant in the prev msg was \"; take consolation frm the fact that u r able to give atleast little of breast milk to ur baby\";.i know,it's quite demoralising sometimes to give the baby formula drink.but,it's not done on purpose.

good luck.

hi,

i delivered my baby girl last yr through c sec and had the same problem.for the first four days she didn't drink milk at all.she was living on fenchel tea.once she started losing wt i didn't want to wait further.i started giving her the formula.i didn't give up breastfeeding !! i used to pump and store it.when the baby was supposed to drink 600 ml a day my breastmilk would amt only upto 200ml.but gradually the qty increased and after abt 2 - 21/2 months she started drinking comfortably.but even then i didn't stop the formula. sense of guilt would creep in here and there but the more we feel/think abt it the more it's going to affect our milk production .the feeding mothers shd be absolutely tense free.it's good for the baby too!! take consolation frm the fact that u r able to feed ur baby atleast little of milk.there r so many,i know, who were not able to do even that.

as others said, eat well and relax urself.don't get too much into it.

good luck

hi,

I also had caserion delivery last year but my doc allowed baby to latch my milk in 2nd day in morning.as my baby was crying for hunger. i was in pain but u knw mother nature help u at that time to nurse ur baby in that condition also.1st day my milk flow was too less.but my doc told to feed baby lieing down n let her suck for hours.more they suck more we produce milk.n doc told to me continue with my old diet exculding oil n spices.

u better eat more methi leaves sabzi.everyday will also do.its bitter so it will help ur baby for colic also.dont eat much chana sabzis as ur stitches will take time to heal.

eat lots n lots of fruits n vegetables.really if u eat good ur milk supply will automatically increase.u drink milk also not to produce milk but now for more iron n calcium.

1 question for u,are u takin ur vitamins, calcium n iron supplements.take it till 3 months.my doc recommded for 3 months .it helped me lot for more energy to nurse my baby , more milk n ofcourse quick healing.

try to eat healthy dear.n still if u dont succeed.go n consult ur doc.she will advice u best.

RE:Adult breast feeding
I was not breastfeed in my childhood hence the idea of sucking and feeding from a woman's full, engorged breasts has infatuated me. It is a fantasy that drives me wild like nothing else, just the thought of laying my head in a woman's lap while she brings her swollen nipples to my mouth.
