Trying since long:Thanks Archie

Hi Archie!
Thanks for ur advice. But i got my periods the very next day after posting this message.
I am not able to justify why an IUI would fail if everything is normal with me and my hubby.
Is it normal not to conceive in first IUI even if everything is normal?.

Thanks & regards,
Veena

Veena ,

my first IUI also failed , from what i ahve read it happens many times ..

so were you on any medications ?? how many follicles did you have ??

The chances of conceiving thru' IUI is generally higher if your husband has a lower sperm cout, you have ahostile mucus or you have more than 1 follicles ...

IUI also depends alot on the timing because the washed sperm, though closer to the egg does not survive as long as the normal sperm ...

in my case, my IUI failed and i got conceived teh very next cycle naturally ..!!

so dont lose hope over the failed IUI ..there is light at the end of tunnel for everybody ... i ama classic example of that :)

Goodluck,
-P

Hi ,
My husband has a very good sperm count. No problems on his side.
I am on clomid tablets and injectibles.
last cycle of iui i had 3 follicles, i am not sure abt hostile mucus.
I had asked doc will he be performing any tests on hostile mucus he says it will not be needed.
Since if its hostile mucus the one will conceive thru IUI. He didnt perform any hormone test on me when we started the treatment. One cycle we checked with clomid but i ovulated very late so he suggested we go ahead with injectibles.
I am not sure wether he is taking me thru the right path of treatment.
Archie I had a question. A day before IUI doc injected me it seems thats for my eggs to ovulate and only on that day he had performed ultrasound. on the day of iui is it necessary to check if ovulation has happened.. and if its timed rightly.
Also wanted to know would it be safe to keep relations naturally on the day of IUI after the procedure is done?
Will try to stop worrying :)

hopingfortejas congrats to you! if you dont mind i would like to know how long were u TTC?

Thanks & regards,
Veena

IUI does not make any miracle besides sperms are entered in fallopian tube. The chances of success are only 20% and thus it means it can lead to failure just like natural conception.
Yes, know plenty of examples failed with series of IUI.
Most importantly you should stop worrying and stop thinking from the day you have had procedure done. Your stress will work against it.
It also is possible that IUI sometime is not on appropriate timing. It has to be very close to ovulation and not a days before or hour(s) after ovulation.

We have been married for the last 12 years. We are trying for a baby but unfortunately every time it's disappointing. I had 3 abortion, 2 Ectopic pregnancy, 1 IUI failure and 2 IVF failures. I had septum in the uterus and got removed. Since I had a history of ectopic pregnancies, both my fallopian tubes are tied. Due to the poor ovarian reserve ... - Malini [View Message]
