Hi all,

I am not sure where to post this. My daughter is 13 months old. I want to potty train her. Can you all let me how you could potty train your baby ? My daughter always gets up when i try to make her sit and prefers to pass when she is standing.

TIA

Hi
For my elder daughter i started potty training at the age of 6 months by the age of 1 yr she was almost completely potty trained.Almost I said because accidents do happen many times and one shd be prepared for it. At the age of 6 months I used to make her sit on the potty with the toy in hand for 15-20 min even if she does not do anything with making the sound sssss......every hour. That is the trick u need to be consistant. Every hour make sure u put her on potty. If u are lazy then it will take lots and lots of time.At the age of 1 yr I used to get up inthe night every 3 hrs to put her on potty. Lots of hard work but by the time she was 1 1/2 yrs old she was completely potty trained.I knew once she gets up she will do potty so i used to make her sit on potty at that time.. it took 1 month but she got the message. Now younger one is 4 months old and I have already started potty training. She already knows ssss.... means susu. though she can not sit i take her in the bathroom and hold her above pot and she does it... though most of the times she does in the nappy but slowly she will understand as she will get control of her bowels. Once she starts sitting I am going to put her on the potty. i have realised that she always cries before she does susu. So if she suddenly starts crying means she is going to do it.. so rush to the toilet.
The key is the consistancy. And ofcourse no lazyness.

my baby iz 8 months old..potty trained by 6 months n now she uses toilet training seat...for the first time itself she strated poo n pee in potty...personally i do think that early potty training iz easy..u can buy some fun type of potty like horse shaped or with beads,or even u can paint on it..or give her some toys in her hand..if she doesnot know what to do in potty pour lil water in to the potty while she sits..so she knows that she needs to urintae.but u can train easily for all babies...u need to try for 1 or more weeks...first use cloth diapers for few weeks to know her blaader n bowel movemments n timing..then make her to sit in potty at the time.most babies will empty their bowells after thier feed..or they will show some signs b4 that...some will b hyper active, some will become sudden silent.,..some will run here n there....mine will become silent.best of luck

I am also in the same dilemma. I wish to potty train my little 14 months old daughter. But don't know how to train her. She does sit on the potty. Does poo in it as well sometimes. But gets very annoyed. I try this every mornings.
I need more tips from experienced mums.. Pls help !!
