avoid milk products,, or byproducts,if at all your baby is not ok with byproducts even...
9month old is ready for soy products like tofu, tempeh, soy chunks in his diet, soy kheema, and all so called soy prducts,,ask your dr if your baby is ready for it.
about your baby intake,,your baby is expected to drink as below,,irrespective of TYPE of formula. its not advisable for you to start him with soymilk unless otherwise recommended by your dr..until then soyformula or whatever formula you are giving is the only food that will give him just the right amt of nutrition your baby will need right now or until he turns 12months/1year...
please check the below posts for the 9month old diet plans and recmmended schedules,,also note that dont expect your baby to complete his feeds,,but at the same time, offer him varieties, textures and diff interesting flavours to his diet,,since your baby is allergic to cows milk, you might want to consider asking your dr first about offering yogurt, cheese or even ghee,,,however, your baby is ready for soy yogurt/yo baby thats available in US, if you are in US,,he is ready for it,,and doesnt contain cows milk !!

also, ask your dr if at your baby is allergic to milk product only or even proteins,,otherwise you might want to consider him asking if its ok for you to start with indian lentils/moongdal or multigrain cereals(it has wheat flour in it)...

take care !

i hv also heard same as MM.
My friend's baby however was ok with cheese, paneer and curd. hv u checked with this too?

abt soymilk:
I wd still say talk to ur doc and check once if u shd give it.

i hv had soy milk in many parts of maharashtra and in delhi, donno abt other cities. A brand/company called \" Sofit\" i think sells in india wide and has many varietis of soy-milk like malt/chocolate/kesar pista etc and they sell it in big and small tetra packs.

If ur doc suggests giving soymilk, also check with your doc about the brand and flavours u r giving.

hi renu,
I've heard of the same problem with some of my friends. They'v started to use soya milk instead of cow milk. Soya milk is available in US. I'm not sure abt india. Probably u can consult ur doc abt this soyaa milk, which gives same nutrition as other milk.

all th ebest.
