Hi Archie,

Do u remember me? I will brief u my history,
I'm 25 yrs old, have irregular cycle, As per Dr adivse, had taken ovofar-10 mg, and now 5 months pregnant.
And now problem is, I went for Ultrasound Scan yesterday, In report I found everything written as normal and in the below they have written as a note as \";Anterior Placenta\";. Is this case rare?
And will it make any complications?
I searched net, many of them telling it will lead to C-Section, is it so?
Plz detail me abt this, I will go and consult Gync next week.

becuase you have anterior placenta does not pose any threat to pregnancy as far as baby while in uterus is considered. Provided your placenta is moved upward.

Because your placenta is anterior your baby will have his/her head, nose facing to your abodomen and that he/she will present back to your abdomen. This condition is referred as OcciputPosterior (OP). Often Drs. in USA prefer C-section while baby is OP. On the other hand many other countries and a few Drs. in USA will give a shot for vaginal birth. The C-section is because baby will find little more difficult than usual to descend through birth canal in OP presentation.

You should not make an appointment but discuss this point when you visit your OB next time.
