Archie please give me your opinion on my ultrasound report.
I have gone for Neural Tube Defect and Down Syndrome test on 19th week of pregnancy and it came negative.
My BP usually has reading 130/90. On first trimester I was taking amdepin and now am Methyldopa thrice a day for BP. Today my BP reading was 123/87. Does high BP will affect baby growth?
For the last 3 days having swelling on feet, hands and little on my face. Is there anything I can do to avoid swelling? Can I go for walk or should take bed rest?

For the last 3 days am feeling baby movement (less) just once in a day and one day I didn’t feel any baby movement. Does it look normal or should I feel baby movement every day? I am 24th weeks 2days pregnant.

Sorry for going so long. Waiting for u r reply.

Two points that I missed out,
hypertension treatment will help subside BP and keep things in right perspective. It is not likely to affect fetus development. But keep bp in limit by relaxing yourself otherwise you may be asked to deliver baby ahead of time. The best thing is to be good with medicine and forget any concern linked and not linked with pregnancy.

If you felt first movement 2 weeks ago then you may expect to feel each day but if you started to feel in last 3 days then it's ok not to feel them on regular pattern.

take care
Archie

Anupama,
I was perfectly fine until the last line of your message.
The anamoly scan report estimated gestationof 19 weeks 1 day with +/-1 week but you say the gestation today is 24 weeks 2 days. This automatically raised concern when was the scan done WAS it done one month before.
If not then ther eis big descrapancy in estimated gestation by ultrasound and your method. I would be worried about that.

The placenta is anterior and sometime this directs patient toward C-section but not mandatory. It's moved partly upward so you may not expect to get in to previa problem.

Baby is of normal size with all the measurements fitting to 20 weeks gestation.

The cervix is not incredibly long but not short either. You may not want to do heavy duty work, do not lift things and try to take good amount of rest whenever possible, drink lots of water.

Anupama,
lightweight or heavyweight is individual term. try not to lift anyting more than 4-5 kg.

you should reduce salt and carbohydrate contents to reduce swelling.

Hi Archie,
Thanks for your reply. Ultrasound was done on 8th March and feeling baby movement from the 21st week of pregnancy.
I am just little concerned about swelling on my feet. Let me know any remedies to subside swelling. Can I put leg in warm water with salt? I couldn’t properly understand don’t lift thing. Should I avoid lifting lightweight thing also?
Thanks,
Anupama
