Hi Hetal,

Today for the first time, I gave my 11 1/2 month old son melted slice of cheddar cheese. that's the kind we get in supermarket which are individually wrapped for use in sandwiches. He really liked it. Is it okay if he eats one whole slice of cheese?

Please advice.

Thanks.

for ideal weight baby, 1 slice..
for underweight baby(as declared by dr,acc to latest checkup),,1-2 slices or once a while 1-2 slice with some cheese dish as the other serving in one day(2servings of cheese)...or acc to what dr recomndss...
for overweight babies, dosage of cheese, yogurt, could be low fat or as told by your dr.

go for sharp cheddar and hard cheese ( sharp cheddar, colby jack or american cheese ),,avoid giving cheese with renett or ingrediants that are more than 4 contents or includes a term called animal fat....
good luck

Your kid is almost a year old,so you can give him 1 to 2 slices a day.there is no need to melt it.just keep it out for few minutes so it gets to room temperature.
