Hello all,

Have a qn. on when to start the foundation good. We live in US and my son has been going to a montessori school from 2 years. Initially he was not that interactive but oflate he has been talking a lot, he is 2 months less to 3 years. In montessori system , after he is 3 years they keep 3-6 years in same class, so he will be in a class like that with elder kids too. Am not sure how much he will benefit from it. On the other hand, we came across this other school which claims to be academically very good , it is not a montessori one and we have heard great references on it from friends. I visited the school too and appears good in terms of development where they have classes for different age groups and guarantee certain skills in every class by the end of the year. While it is far from the current school and is little more expensive, we are thinking about it. My question is about the age to get into good school. Is the 3 years a right age to start in here? As in US, the public schools are free from 5 yrs onwards and relatively ok. We do not know if we would continue in private or public after 5 years right now. So thinking if it would be good to put the kids in academically good foundation from 3-5 years and then decide at that point when they are 5 on the next steps. Or is it ok to do this from 4 years and continue with montessori until then? Please suggest. Thanks a lot!
