Here, I want to share my experiences with pre-schools in Koramangala, Bangalore. After returning from UK in 2008 I started searching a good pre-school for my daughter of three and half then. First I search over internet and yellow-pages gave me all the schools address and their phone numbers in and around Koramangala. My daughter started schooling in UK play group and our expectation was also very high with respect to that and in India that was mid-session.
I had visited couple of schools in Koramangala they are Headstart, little feet, Little paradise, Peter pater, Jambo kids. Headstart refused as they are only accepting child from age of 2 years. Peter-pater looks ok but the staircase afraid me. Other schools were very un-professional in their attitude. Mostly they were running in ground floor of house and owner living 1st floor. They have small Maruti Van for transporting - which were not safe. Again fees are quite high for these schools even they are high with respect to UK' s school.
That time I found one school named Eagle Ridge Prep in 16th Main behind BDA complex. After meeting their Principal and looking to their infrastructure immediately I admitted my daughter.
Now my daughter has finished her schooling there in first week of April as she got admission in a good school in Bangalore located Richmond road and waiting to start her LKG there from 1st June.
But what I want to say here is that we are very happy with the Eagle Ridge Prep (recently they changed their name as Sheer wood Prep and make a provision that students studying in this school will get admission in Sheerwood High). This school has trained teachers, ample amount of space for kids. This Sheerwood has classes from pre-nursery to std 2.
Few good points I observed for this school are:
1. They are professionally well managed
2. They have great principal who track all the children, their activities etc.
3. The school has proper building with respect to others
4. Fees are minimum with respect to others.
5. Organized sports, annual days, events, day-out etc.
6. Their transport service is very efficient and no miss even a single day.
7. It feels like a proper school - this is very important because ultimately my daughter need to be settled down in another school where environment is not similar with those schools which are operated in GF of living house.
Everything cannot be satisfying - but only one point I have as negative regarding school - that is they do not maintain any diary or not share that with parents in play group. So we were unware about what was going in school. But that is not a big issue.
