Hi friends,

last month my hormones were checked found out that my progesterone is on lower side so my Dr has advised me to start with prometrium 200 mg capsules once in a day .but when i received this drug from pharmacist it is written on bottle do not take this drug if u become pregnant.regarding this i spoke to my dr he told me that i have start and continue this medicine even if i conceive.he told me to continue even if i become pregnant.
i have this drug information on internet and i found its terrible since it is steroid.
i want to ask all gals has anybody taken above capsule even while pregnant?
does it have any bad effects on foetus?any congenital abnormality.
please help me since yest i am in lot of stress.
my major concern is nothin should happen to the baby.

yest onwards i started taking prometrium capsules orally at bedtime and today morning i saw little spotting .i spoke with my dr he told me nothing to worry about.
i found this information that vaginal and injections progesterone supplements are more effective than oral progesterone.
what is your dr opinion?
are u taking oral or vaginal progesterone ?
please let me know.

Prometrium is a steroid but it is not bad for the baby .... i am four weeks pg and i am taking 100 mg prometrium ..it is just progesterone supplement and i have read and my doc told me that excess progesterone is not bad ..it only makes you feel sluggish ...

actually proetrium is said to be better than provera which is synthetic ...

so dnot worry ... it is ok ....
