hai,
my son is 8 months old.i give veg soup made with carrot, beetroot, beans, cauliflower,tomato etc to him from 6 months onwards.is there any problem in giving these daily. i read in this board about nitrates and all. should i avoid some particular veg. kindly give me a reply.

re-read my post on nitrates dated 4th oct,06.to anu with subject, carrots and beets...

there is not much of worry about these,,, babies above 6months have good digestives to fight thru the nitrates(if ne)...

also, amt of nitrates in vegetables is pretty nomimal and if it was harmful,, there would have been an epidemic or an outbreak and there would have been a recall for these vegetables,,just like recently, there is nationwide recall of fresh spinach bags in US,,,
there is outbreak of e-coli in US ,,in fresh bags of spinach !
