What type of father are you? Do you believe in being a strict disciplinarian or a friend of your kids? Hi its important to be atleast a little bit strict with your children or else they will not understand your concern and behave as per their needs. This will later put you in trouble once they grow. akash replied. hey i think a father should be a mixture of being a friend and being strict. he should change himself according to the situation hes in. One has to be strict in family for the proper upbringing of your childrens. I don’t practice in setting rules for my kids but I believe in nurturing good habits in my kids. Ritu replied. Kids are usually more attached to their mother but then it is a fathers duty too to try to make a bond with their kid and they have to protect you too soo their way of protecting you is by being a lil strict. Am a tutor i have seen many parents when they spoke to me about their children all fathers will love their children but they will be strict only in some matters like education because they must not spoil their future. In today's life there is lot of pressure on children and they are very confused with their problems, So I as a Father I prefer to be friendly with my child maintaining the discipline and respect for parents. When you become friendly with your child he will able to open up with you communication is easier with your child and child develops confidence in you with respect and love. Saloni replied. Though there is a thin line there, he knows when to be strict and when to be liberal. He knows how to balance the two. He is very disciplined and expects the same from our kids. I like discipline. It teaches the the value of things such as time and money. I like my kids to be disciplined and well behaved. i sometimes do spank my kids to instill discipline. Once my son got poor grades in his exams and then I just gave him an option to choose from either get good grades or leave the house. I know I was very strict but for me there was no option left. He had to learn the lesson right there and then. Now my kids are grown up and they thank me for making them such a good person.
