Hetal replied. hi there,,,nevermind,,
here is a good schedule for 1 year old.
breakfast : oatmeal and whole milk -- no comments,,try offering other iron fortified toddler cereals..watever you give 1/4th cup of cereal with 1/4th cup of milk !
brunch -- a serving of fruits,,
lunch -- offer more varieties,,check my post to various people here,,wher ein there are great lunch ideas,,,offer wheat atleast 1 serving of day,,vegetable, lentil, rice,
post lunch brunch/snack - a serving of yogurt,or cheese or ne milk products,,even paneer is great !
early evening snack- if your baby accepts it,,some crackers,,like fruit puffs, gold fishe biscuits,,with 100% juice, now that he is 1 year, you can gv 100% juice...
dinner,,give other varieties other than just cereal..if he is not interested in milk, if u are in US, talk to your dr if your baby is ready for pediasure. also, adding a lil sprinkle of cardamom pwder makes milk acceptable to some babies who didnt like milk...so try that,,just a lil spinkle,,is more than enough..
also adding a lil sugar is also acceptable,,very lite sprinkle is enough,,name sake !
for jjuices, if he doesnt like taking juices, there must be his fav fruit,,so giving that juice with it,,or give n extra serving of fruits instead of juice..thats also fine..
what is his birth weight,,wat is his curnt weight ???
give your baby more of multigrains, whole grains, proteins like tofu, soya chuncks,,variety of foods,,if your baby is not interested in his own food, just try offering food from your plate,,sometimes that works,,
addin mild spices to his diet,so that he learns to eat spices,,,he is 1 year and ready for table or family foods..
keep food before him and see how he reacts,,let him play with it,,esp like pastas,,macronis, chopped vegies and tiny fruits n vegies like cherries, blackberries,,strawberries,,peas, chopped carrots,,grapes,,
all these are colourfull,,so put different colour to attract and make him get interested in it..take a bite just when you place and show the expression that you njoyed the food ! kids often go by parents expression of serving food and trying them !! so go by that,if he gets interested...
at 1 year, your child is expected to eat 1/4th of one adult serving per food,,like roti 1/4th,dal 1/4th cup,rice.1/4th cup,vegie-1/4th cup,,,
mix vege, rice and dal and soak roti pieces in it,,it will help...
which means he will eat 1 cup of everything in his full meals !
takecare,hope this helps....
