Hello Karishma, Archie, Spink, Sunshine and others on this board,
I am posting after a long time. But here's my story. I have been TTC since June last year. Have had 2 chemical pregnancies once in July and once in Oct. Chemical pregnancy is when you get a BFP , but there are no signs of pregnancy in the uterus. You will eventually get your periods in few days or weeks late.
So after the 2nd one I was on extra folic acid, b6, b12 vitamins and started TTC again in Jan this year. In fact in Jan I did not get a + OPK. So thought it was over for Jan. But when I did not get my periods in feb, i found I was pregnant. We wre so happy, but scared ....So no + opk, and yet pregnant. For those people who are TTC, do not depend on OPK completely. If I depended on it, we wouldn't get pregnant.
So in Feb went to my doctor. Everything looked fine regarding HCG levels etc. Everything was progressing fine until my first ultrasound. We saw the fetus with a heart beat (but slow heart beat). The doctor told us it was not a good sign and asked us to come back in a week. Went back in a week and found no Heart beat. So it all over and now my doctor told me i will miscarry soon.
Waiting to mc. They have given me time till Monday. If I don't mc by then I will go in for a D & C.
This has been the most devastating 2 weeks of my life. To know you had life inside you and then to lose it all and then to wait to mc.
Need some hope here. Maybe not my time.
Anyway now the doctor is recommending I see a RE. Have an appointment with him in April.
Not sure how the RE can help? I don't have problems getting pregnant? My doctor said sometimes clomid helps with people with recurrent losses. has anyone experienced this.
Archie, do you know how the RE can help?
Bye,
Simba

Thanks for your support and kind words. I just can't beleive it is happening to me.
Archie, I had all symptoms: breasts enlarged and heavy, moderate nausea, sleepiness, tiredness etc.
I was being treated this time by a high risk pregnancy doctor, who recommended extra folic acid, b6, b12 vitamins , baby asprin and progesterone.
But even that did not work !
So now she wants me to see a RE too. I will be her patient after completing 3 months of my pregnancy with the RE.
My doctor did not lose hope though. She quoted a patient who had 7 loses in a row and finally took clomid and got pregnant with twins.
So I have hope. I will have a kid someday. It's just not this year anymore since I am not planning to TTC till June this year. I want to talk to the RE first. Cannot handle another loss.
Waiting to mc now. the wait is really bad. Will probably go for a D and C after monday as I am travelling later next week and want this to be over , behind me by then.
Hope nobody has to go through this.

archie replied. Dear Simba,
I am hurt with this news. How sad to note that you lost once again, a step next to chemical and blighted ovums.
You deserve to be treated by a high risk pregnancy specialist and of course reproductive endocrinologists.
The previous two losses may have raised some antiphospholipid antibodies that usally leads to miscarriage and may have been this result. Also some imbalance of hormone. It may be that your progesterone never continued to rise, did you feel hurting breasts, mood swings, headaches, tiredness, feeling most of the time to sleep, nausea or vomitting sensation in last month. If most of these questions are negative then most likely it was not sufficient amount of progesterone to support pregnancy.
your RE will run some blood work and figure out what was wrong.
you have nothing to worry on fertility part. you have to figure out reason behind three losses, and you qualify to run a battery of tests now and take most care to avoid mishap in near future.
i am hoping that you miscarry naturally and not to have to go for D&C.

very sorry to hear about the loss. I understand how it feels. Don't lose hope, u atleast know that u conceived and there is no problems in u'r system. So u will conceive again and u will give birth to healthy baby.
But i suggest u to consult RE.
Good luck

Hope replied. Hi Simba,
I can understand how disappointing and depressing experience it must have been for you. It was not God's wish yet to bless you with a child, but soon your prayers will be answered. Just hang in there and keep faith. Its easier said than done, but believe me you will be granted your wish.
In a way, i guess you are in a better position than those who have problem conceiving AT ALL. You conceived in jan-feb, means there is nothing wrong in your reproductive system, and it is just a matter of time that you will be blessed with a healthy baby.
You are in my prayers and I will pray for all those on this board.
May God gives us strength to go thru this difficult time and soon we all hear the pitter patter of little feet.
Good luck,
Hope

We have been married for the last 12 years. We are trying for a baby but unfortunately every time it's disappointing. I had 3 abortion, 2 Ectopic pregnancy, 1 IUI failure and 2 IVF failures. I had septum in the uterus and got removed. Since I had a history of ectopic pregnancies, both my fallopian tubes are tied. Due to the poor ovarian reserve ... - Malini [View Message]
