Hi All,

Today had doctors visit. Doctor told me that I have very less chances of having me baby. He suggested IVF. and gave two cycles of IUI option. Since menatlly and financially we are not in a state for IVF now. We are going with two cycles of IUI for now.

Our insurance does not cover infertility. They told me that IUI costs 1800$.
Karish and HopinnTeja, i know that u are going through IUI. Does that cost that much. By the way i live in US east coast.

Feeling very low today, after hearing that.
I'm really not ready for IVF. Doctor told me succes with IUI for me is also very less that is why he said only two cycle.

pari replied. i know wot it feels like to hear that. but ur doc is really honest and he didnt keep u in dark. ive seen cases where people have blind faith in the docs and they keep spending without any results. he never said u wont conceive..he just said the chances are less. go ahead with wotever u r ready for. im also in the US. and our insurance too doesnt cover infertility. it seems infertility affects people in all walks of life except those who lay down the policies of insurance!!
im sorry dear but i know u will conceive one day, no matter wot the doc says. so just hang on and do wotever u can.

I can very well understand what u r going thru. Its too taxing babes.

Well, i am from India and hv undergone 2 IUIs till date.

Since i am on injectibles viz HCG Shots my IUI costed me around 3,000 per cycle. Otherwise only IUI comes around 1,200 near our clinic. Even we r not too well off , this money also gave us a pinch but neways since this was our only way of achieving our goal we are managing our way.

But seeing the end result i feel this is nothing. What say??

I will go for two cycles of IUI. Day after tomorrow i have to go for blood test and ultrasound. I live in delaware state close to philadelphia and new jersey. Earlier i had all tests and surgery done in california. Last month we moved here.
So here again they are doing blood test and ultrasound. When i get my periods i will be on clomid and no injectibles:)

i live in Texas, and IUI costs me ~ $1000 (including the sonogram and doctor's visit ..)

but i a only on clomid and have a HCG shot , followed by prometrium ...the cost is higher if you are on injectibles ...

I would also recommned maybe 2-3 cycles on IUI and then moving on bcoz the medicines lose their efficacy after sometime ...
