hi friends
i'm a housewife hving a 6 yr old daughter.i have been married for 10 yrs now.we r staying in a foreign country..though i hv done pg...i hvn't worked anywhere before since i was most of the time with my child...from last year onwards my child started going to regular school...i also took up a job in school in that year...which was a temperory one..now this year i don't hv a job...now i'm staying at home.....my hubby is in good job and finacially doing very well so actually there is no need for me to hunt for job...but i feel very depressed staying at home all alone the whole day...i feel very frustrated as i feel worthless.women nowdays r becoming more and more finacially independent and succesful...that wat i read everywhere..and i feel i hv no value..being in foreign country has its limitations for looking for alternatives..all these thoughts make me more and more moody..i don't no wat to do...i wud appreciate if any one gives advice to me or even share their story who r in similar situaion...thank you very much. Being in a foreign place is in itself a bit overwhelming, I understand.

Being a \";housewife\"; is a priveledge and you should keep that in mind. Turn this negative feeling around and look into creating a new hobby for yourself,if you already have a hobby, put a lot of more time towards that when you child is at school during the day.

I live in the US, I have been a stay at home Mom and housewife for some time now. When I start feeling like I am worthless, I stop and look at my happy children (school age now)...I also enjoy my beautiful home.

Since your child is in school, depending on where you live, try participating in the PTA or be your child's teacher's room mother. Ask me what that is if you are curious.

Don't worry about or focus on what \";other women\"; seem to have that you don't...like a high power career. Many of those same women wish they were in your shoes.

Here in the city I live, you ought to see how many women would give anything if they could stay home, but instead, they are forced into the working since their husbands may not get enough hours or doesn't make enough money to make ends meet.

I have a degree and the whole nine yards, sometimes I felt like it was going to waste until I used what I learned and applied it to volunteering as a tutor for underpriveleged children.
I enjoy it!!!
