Name: shristi
I live in Fremont, CA. I have put together a program that targets the children from Asian-Indian ethnic background. CHILDREN FROM ALL ETHNICITIES ARE WELCOME.
Like most of us, I want my children to learn our culture and heritage. Being a teacher, I get summers off and I want to use that time to help our children do something constructive as well as enjoy.
If you are one of the parents who is wondering how to have your children learn something during summer as well as spend not too much, here is the answer.
My program will be for an hour and a half a day, twice a week. The program will include the following:
ART: example: Rangoli using sand, making garlands using paper flowers.
STORIES: example excerpts from great epics like Ramayan, Mahabharat as well as non-fictions like the life-story of Gandhiji and other national leaders.
SLOKAS: Sanskrit slokas (with meanings), National anthem.
DANCE: simple small steps compiled together to do an item.
COOKING: Making raita, papad, fruit salad, Idlis etc.
If interested write to me.
Thanks for taking the time to read it.
