Feeding:Food timetable for 10 month old

Name: Priti Haria

Hello,
Please suggest me diet plan for 10 month old.
His current diet is:
9:00 am - 3 tbsp of rice cereal with 1/3 banana.
10:30am - BM.
1 pm - one small bowl of khichadi.
2:30pm - again BM
5:00pm - 3/4th of apple - pureed.
8:30 pm - one bowl of vegetable soup.
9:30-10:00 pm - BM.

He wakes up about 2 times for BM during night. He doesn't like formula so he's only on BM. I give him some water during the day with sippy cup. Should I add any juices or more fruits to his diet. His weight just dropped at his 9 month check-up. He was always in 25th percentile and at 9 months he's in 5th percentile.

I'm worried about that. Please let me know if I am feeding him enough or should I give him anything else.

Thanks in advance.

a 10month old needs the below diet -
--> 3-4 feedings or on demand
24-32 ounces total per day -- bm or iron fortified formula.
-->4-6 tablespoons - cereal.
-->juice - 4 ounces or ½ cup (from cup only)NOT 100% JUICE,the diluted juice,either from pulp plus water or 100% juice plus 4 parts of water.until 1 year.aftter 1 year, 100% juice.
--> Fruits = 6-8 tablespoons.
--> vegetables = 6-8 tablespoons
--> Meat = 4-6 tablespoons
if you are vegetarians, you can replace meat with ne source of protein like tofu,lentils(dals), overcooked sprouts of mooong,..

some guidelines -
Offer infant cereal until one year of age. If refused, mix in with other foods in small amounts.
Grain products make good finger foods: crackers, dry cereals, bread, noodles, mashed rice, soft tortilla pieces, toast, etc.
No need to add sugar or syrups to cereal, etc.
Meat

Offer pureed or finely chopped lean meat, poultry, cooked egg yolk, cheese, yogurt, or mashed beans or peas.
Limit use of fried meats, gravies, and sauces
Avoid use of too many processed meats such as hot dogs, luncheon meats, bacon and sausage. They are high in fat and salt and can cause choking.
Fruits and Vegetables

Plain fruits and vegetables are best. No need to add salt, sugar, syrups, oil, butter or other fats or seasonings. The child learns to enjoy the flavor without these.
Never add honey to your baby’s foods—it can contain botulism spores that can make the baby sick.
Be sure to remove seeds and pits.
give one serving of fruits with cereal, and then the other in late afternoon with fruit juice.
give servings of vegetables during lunch and dinner,,start dessert at 10months onwards after dinner, if your baby cannt eat nicely in 1 serving. or just give some lite snack like infant cherios,with milk, or 1/2 chopped banana...

about mid night wakeup, he doesnt need to be fed at night. try offering water at that point of time, it might help. also, babies get up at night mostly because of habit, or is not eating food properly thru out the day. so first customize your baby diet acc to what he needs,,after that still he continues to wakeup,its time for you to wean him.but i dont see that reason, because considering his weight loss, he needs to eat more and drink adequte amount of formula or bm..he needs to wean to formula,,try chaging formula brand, talk to your dr. also some drs do advice at 10months onwards to start cows milk,,,ask your dr if your baby is ready for it..watch for ne discomforts or ne allergies,while starting cows milk before 1 year.

later on in the end,,, its said by many drs & i too will not comment on that,,if you are happy to bf your baby and if your baby is also njoying bf, then its totally your personal decision whether or not to continue breastfeeding...however, many drs expect mothers to start weaning from 7months onwards or even 1 year later on depending on how baby health is and mother milk supply is..so you be the best judge.

good luck !

Thanks Hetal for your response. I realize that I wasn't giving him enough quantity according to his age. I'll definitely try following your guidelines. Thanks much for your help.
