Womens Issues:Variety in daily routine

Hi Friends,
I live in the US, am a stay-at-home mom to my very active, 3 1/2 year old daughter. I was wondering about day-today schedule of other moms/housewives living here? Let me be specific...
My day starts at about 7 am...after getting up, I make tea/breakfast for my husband who leaves for work at about 7.30. I then read some newspaper or clean after the breakfast. My daughter is normally up by 8-8.15. then after brushing, she eats her breakfast and watches TV until 10 am. She goes to school twice a week(mornings) and playgroup(an hour) once a week. I take care of grocery shopping, laundry, vaccuming/cleaning, cooking etc. I like flowers, so I maintain a garden as a hobby. I take my daughter to the library, we read together, and do some craft projects, go shopping etc. On weekends, we are busy as a family-- we all either go to park, bike riding, swimming, friends, travel or do some home improvement projects etc. I do have some friends but most of them are working during the day, so I don't have much adult communication during the day and crave so even badly....I am living here for quite a long time which I love most part but I miss the variety of everyday life which we have back in India! I am sure there are many women who could be in similar situation... so how do you deal with the monotonous routine? or may I say boredom?

I am not asking for a solution, just curious about everyday lives of others?

Hello,
I am glad you are able to stay at home with your child...

I too am home and since I have been home for 6 years, it did take me time to grow used to this new situation and make the most out of it.

My routine is something like this,
wake up around 6AM, go for a brisk walk
(30 minutes)(me and my children)
come back, shower,
make breakfast for my children and myself,
after breakfast, turn on some music and do some dancing,
after they grow tired of that,
we read lots of good children's books
we usually go to the library for storytime
we go through the mall after that to browse around
may be go to a museum or gallery
we go for lunch or have a picnic
we come back home
naptime
they wake up and have snacks
I watch television while they do free play
we read some more books
we go outdoors
they come inside and do some art activities
I go over the alphabet, we sing, I do a bible lessons
and that's it...
then, my husband is coming home from work.

To keep things interesting
I alternate activities...I also give myself some time to myself to be \";energized' for them.

On certain Fridays, I spend a couple of hours at the salon getting my hair washed or brows threaded...whatever I need to do while my girls are with either my MIL or my Mom...

I try to have a \";plan A\"; and \";B\"; in case the weather is not good...etc.

Take care,
Viva Nina

Viva Nina, thanks for sharing. I like your idea of spending some time exclusively to yourself. That will definitely help to recharge yourself for everyday challenges!

RE:Santhoshi mata's vrat.
Can I skip Santoshi mata fast for once this Friday? As its impossible in every condition to keep the fast as i am going to a remote place where such things can't be maintained? I've done more than 16 fasts with my pure heart. Will God forgive me if I skip this fast? Please reply fast. Its very urgent.... - Avika [View Message]

RE:RE:female or male sex capsules or some other assesori
I don't think would work. It would make one have garlic breath which could be a turnoff. I strongly feel that this is the time in their life to put down Kama sutra and take up some Yoga Sutra and religious books. Maybe she becomes like him too. More spiritual.... - Kim [View Message]
