my 8 month old has stopped eating, i started solids after 6 mths and till six mths he was breastfed... he use to take some atleast but for past 3-4 days he has stopped taking anything he just wont open his mouth no matter what and he cries if put in feeding chair... have tried feeding solids on lap but still not the same the things he enjoyed like banana is also no-no... he was not taking bottle as he was b/f now for some weeks he atleast take some milk from bottle....but not full anly about 4 oz i am really worried his intake is maybe only half of what his age should be having and it;zs happening for some days now.... pls help iam very worried... savitha replied. is your son teething? or he maybe bored of the food he is eating also. try some other variation. i don't know what solids you are giving him currently. pls check his weight. as long as he is not losing any weight, i guess it shd be ok. sometimes u will also have to trick the child into opening his mouth. What we used to do for my niece was, she loved water & we wld say water & she wld open her mouth, then we wld put food in her mouth. sometimes, u can divert the attention also, show a toy or do something so that he has to open his mouth to laugh, then u can try feeding him. but its always good to check with his doctor to rule out any other problem. don't hesitate in going to the doctor if you feel like, even if its for a small reason. its always better to clarify our doubts rather than stew in it :)
