hi,
i have three months old daughter. next month when she'll be 3.5 moths old i will have to join work back..nowadays doctors are insisting on breastfeeding baby for atleast 4-4.5 months and not giving them any other formula milk / cow milk.
i am staying in India...so how is it possible in India to express milk? are there any breat pumps available? if so what's the price range? and if not what's the alternative?
please help me by answering my queries.....as i am feeling guilty by the thought of giving my baby formula milk when doctor is against it.

Dear Worried Mom,
I have joined work after 40 days of delivery.I used to keep expressed milk ready fr my kid.Breast pumps are available in market ranging from 400 to 600 but if u use that needs sterlization.we can express it by hand and keep it in a stell utensil only while feeding please heat water and keep that steel vessels in hot water surrondings. Breast milk can stay till 8 hours in room temp.only 6 hours in summer.

Hi,

Breast pumps are very much available in India. I had used it when my baby was 3-4 mths. You can get it in any baby stores like Just Born, Pink and Blues or Little kids.

Hi,
try 'baby farlin' brand of breast pump. It is very good. You have the option of manual and battery operated types. I have the manual one...which is pretty good. Costs around Rs 1000/-.
