hello everybody,
i have 2.5 months old daughter and she is exclusively on breastfeed. nowadays she has started having breat milk only for 5-7 mins each time. after that if i force her to have more; she just cries. i am really worried, if only this much milk will be sufficient for her proper growth? also earlier she used to have milk after each 2 / 2.5 hrs...but nowadys this time has increased upto 4 hrs at a streach :(
( sometimes even 6-7 hrs in the night, she just falls asleep if i try to wake her up & try to feed her in night )
i am really worried abt my baby's health. has her appetite decreased by any reason?
bye n thanks.

I meant to say that she can take the same amount of milk in half time at this stage.

Also you can give her pacifier afte burping her for 1-2 mintes and when the pacifier falls just offer your breast at that moment and she may take another round.
good luck

dear cherry
Your baby's apetite has not decreased.
Baby's sometimes takes double the amount of milk approx after 2-3 months than they had been taking at newborn stage and at 1 month. some babies are quick and they start doing this almost after 6 weeks! So do not worry.
Take your baby's weight regulary and always ask your pediatrician for weight check and is she gaining normal.
Weight gain is the most relaible source to know that your baby is taking enough milk.

Further its very normal for her to take longer stretch at night like 4 hr or 6 hr etc.and it may gradually increase. she will not get up every 3 hr like she use to in her newborn stage......so relax and enjoy your sleep.
Stop looking at the watch....take it more casual....after she stops feeding for 6-7 mints, wait and relax for some time....take her on your shoulder and pat her back and try to burp her.
Then give her kiss and hug and sing. Then change her diaper....talk to her...then after coaxing try to offer her another breast. she may take or refuse ...but you show her you do not mind. take her to bed with you and watch for signs like making suking motions or fussing or as if taking her hand to mouth or turning her head. As all these are signs that she wants more and is ready for another round after relaxing.
Sometimes burping after 1st round really helps. Also take her to bed with you for few days etc...

Hope this would help.

RE:Adult breast feeding
I was not breastfeed in my childhood hence the idea of sucking and feeding from a woman's full, engorged breasts has infatuated me. It is a fantasy that drives me wild like nothing else, just the thought of laying my head in a woman's lap while she brings her swollen nipples to my mouth. Ideally, I'd like to finally explore this with the right female. If you are in or near... - Sanjayhyd [View Message]
