try giving your child finger food especially a colurful assortment, ie chicken, chips, carrots etc. encourage them to use a baby fork. if they refuse to eat remove the plate and let them go to bed hungry. After a few days they will soon start to eat. Always praise them once they eat - even if it is only a litttle bit.

You can try adding cooked egg yolk to his main meal daily. Also try and add butter and cheese to meals. They make food taste better and will also help your child to put on weight

Indians are genetically shorter and less in weight than others are. I am a mom in USA. I have a 2 yr old and is underweight. However, he is very active and seems to live on junk food. Butter is good but not advisable - as you would be the cause for his heart problems later in life. Try giving him jello - which is full of fat or grapes or mangoes (fatty fruits) even bananas are good. Try to snack your kid with healthy stuff. And relax!! every mom thinks their children are underweight. As long as they are active and do not seem to tire down - they are fine.

Hi there!

Even my daughter is small and here are some things that I do. Add ghee or butter to any foods that you give him. Eg, if you make Parathas - add ghee on top. Or you can make ghee and sugar sandwiches. If you are in the US, try and give him PEDIASURE. I hear it is very nurtritious. If he likes Pasta and nuggets...try and feed him that as well. Ice creams and shakes are also good...add fresh fruit to the shakes. Good luck!
