Am new here... am 27 now..i've been married for 5 yrs..we've tried for around 6 months off and on in the past year but never been very serious about it... but for the past 2months i have been spotting in between periods.. and i had a ultrasound.. 'n bloodwork done...the ultra sound showed nuthin'.. but the bloodwork showed my progestrone level to be 1.1 which is supposed to be low the doc said.. so she said i hadn't ovulated .. and she asked to see a frtility specialist and yesterday i met with him... 'n he ordered all sorts of tests... now am not sure i wanna go along with it...i dunno if the spotting is b'coz of the stress.... i have been under a LLLt of stress for the past few months....
well my question to anybody who know about this stuff is... is it not possible dat i did not ovulate that particular month??? 'coz i have tried the ovulation tests and i know i did ovulate 'n all..i mean we haven't tried for that long... so we wanna try for some more time i guess... b4 we got to a specialist...can someone give me some insight on whether i need to go to a specialist??? or about the spotting any thoughts on whats happening!!
thanx in advance...

i am also TTC for last 2.9 yrs with no luck. i had a regular cycle and i was taking BBT for last 1 yr ! which told me that i was ovulating on CD14-19 ! but recently im diagnosed with PCO tht means i am not ovulating properly. so in my opinion its always better to go to the doctor and check everything properly .even when my prodesterone was low enough that told i didnt ovulated that month my BBT showed i`ve ovulated on cd19!!!
sorry for such a big mail !
with lots of luv and baby dust.

strawberry pink replied. Hi,
BBT Means body basal temperature. This tell you when you ll ovulate, then u can try for a baby!
here is some info about BBT which i found online. Its available in all drug store/walmart/kmart etc.
This page is a basic guide to charting your basal body temperature. You can download our free BBTchart and buy a BBT thermometer and you will be all set to go. For more details on charting, you should consult one of the many books on this topic. There are some frequently asked questions and answers after the general instructions.
Charting your BBTs is really pretty easy. Basically, what you are doing is taking your temperature first thing each day and plotting the temperature on a chart. What you are looking for is to see a shift of at least .4 degrees Fahrenheit after ovulation making your chart biphasic (showing low temperatures before ovulation in the follicular phase, and higher ones after ovulation in the luteal phase).
Take your temperature first thing in the morning before you get out of bed or even speak -- leave your thermometer at your bedside within easy reach so you don’t have to move much to get it. If you use a glass thermometer, make sure you shake it down before going to bed.
Try to take the temperature at as close to the same time each day as possible -- set an alarm if you need to. Staying within a half hour either side of your average time is a good idea because your temp can vary with the time (i.e., if you usually take your temperature at 6 a.m., it is OK to take your BBT between 5:30-6:30, but the closer to 6 the better). The normal variation is by up to .2 degrees per hour -- lower if you take your temperature early, higher if you take it late.
It is best to take your BBT after a minimum of 5 hours sleep, and at least 3 in a row is preferable.
You can take your temperature orally, vaginally, or rectally -- just stay with the same method for the entire cycle.
You should try to place the thermometer the same way each day (same location of your mouth, same depth vaginally and rectally).
Plot your temperature on your chart each day, but refrain from reading too much into it until the cycle is done.
Some women, not all, have a temperature drop when they ovulate. If you see this drop, it is a good idea to have sex in case you are ovulating.
What you are looking for is a temperature shift of at least .4 degrees over a 48-hour period to indicate ovulation. This shift should be above the highest temperatures in the previous six days, allowing one temperature to be thrown out as inaccurate (fluke, illness). Perhaps the best way to explain this is to show an example.
OPK -ovulation prediction kit.
Its the strip which is available in stores,it works too in predicting your ovultn.

I had septum in the uterus and got removed. Since I had a history of ectopic pregnancies, both my fallopian tubes are tied. Due to the poor ovarian reserve ... - Malini [View Message]
