Hi Sini,

I did not notice your question until today. Sorry about that. The amount would depend on your child's age. When I started for my son, it was just quarter slice. I slowly increased it. Initially I used the end of my cake piping molds to make small circles of the cheese. It was interesting to him that way. I have not used my piping bag to decorate a single cake! But it was useful to give cheese to my son :-)

Hope this helps, Aarti

Some (not all) babies tend to get hard stools (not necessarily constipationg) if they consume a lot of dairy products. I started cheese only after month 10 with my son. I don't know where you are based. In the US you can start with mild cheddar or Kraft American slices. If in India you can introduce Britannia/Amul brand slice cheese.

There is no problem in waiting until your baby turns one to introduce cheese. You can try yogurt now. It is gentler to the stomach.

My son has a tendency to get hard stools if he has too many dairy products in a single day. On those days I give him more water, fruit and some type of fiber. So it has never been a problem.

Good luck, Aarti
