I know it's not the place where i should write my post. but i didnot get any reply in babysection so i thought i might get help from this place.

i am travelling to india this january alone with 8 months of baby boy. i am afraid how i am gonna handle my baby and luggage at the same time. need advise . i have to do custom at bombay and then i have to fly to ahmedabad. i will appreciate ur help for this. what are the things i have to be careful when travelling with baby alone. what things i need for my baby. my flight's total hour is 22hr. savitha replied. hi,
1st of all ask ur agent to book bassinet, that will ensure front seat. if ur babys not comfy sleeping in bassinet, you can spread a thick blanket & make baby sleep in front of u(i always do this with my son), next- ask ur travel agent to order infant meal.generally airlines will provide gerber baby food. for milk powder u can use milk powder dispenser. i hv 2 dispensers used for travel purpose..each having 3 containers. reg solids u will hvto rely on ready made cereals. certain brands comes in cardboard boxes. u can carry them. then reg hand baggage, u can use a back pack containing urs & baby's stuff. put baby in stroller. airlines allow stroller up to the aircraft door where u will hv to hand over to the staff & on arrival collect it again at the plane door. as others hv said once u reach india, u will get assistance from airlines staff. most important thing while take off & landing give something for ur baby to suck or hold him upright closing ears. u can request airhostess to give ur meal early or late depending on baby.

regarding the milk , u must take enfamil lipil 's enough amount with u . As in Plane u get simple powder milk which may not suit to 8 months baby .
Here in India , dont change formula. let me know for how long u r staying here in India. I came back in june this year from USA n brought more than required enfamil lipil canes with me for my baby. So in case u need Enfamil formula for baby in India then dont hesitate . Let me know . I will make enfamil packed canes courier to ur place. So dont worry abt that.

One more thing of convenience: Book all ur heavy luggage from USA to ahmeadbad. U will directly get it at ahmedabad.If u will take same airline then no probs.
I am sure becoz we adopt that system so many times . If u r seriously interested then i can tell u all that arrangement with surity after asking from hubby

There is no need to worry for travelling alone. There will be many people to help you out in the airport.
You may want to take a stroller for your baby. You can always exchage the bassinet seat for you and your baby once you get into the plane.
Between changing the terminals at Transit, you can request the plane attenders to help you out with your luggage and many transit airports will have a kids/baby place for changing diapers, feeding etc.
At Mumbai, you can pay some money to attenders and they will help you out with customs etc. Meanwhile you can ask your parents side to come to Mumbai airport as it might me helpful
during airport changing from international to domestic and if you have to wait for a long time for domestic plane.
Take whatever needed baby food and extra clothes for baby and urself (in case baby throws up).

Thank you for the help.
But i have one question. I am giving my baby Enfamil formula so can i keep formula can with me as right now security is so tight i am worried that they will allow me the can like 6-12oz.

well take some baby food in the diaper bags, 1-2 fav toys that are handy, 2 pairs of extra colthing. Milk bottles (1-2 ) empty as in plane they do provide milk bottles

and for other things.....airport will help u with the luggage and clearance

And always ask for the front seat ...tell them u have a kid....so they will give u accordingly.

And they will give u priority in going inside the plane (as u r with the kid) after the first class passengers.
