Hi,

We have a 9 months old baby who has stopped milk since 4 months.She doesnt take breast or bottle milk.She even hates cerelac.She just takes 2 spoons of any food and starts crying. She can stay hours together without taking any food.
Is there any medicine to increase her Appetite.we stay in India. We are very much worried abt our baby.Did anyone face such problem.Please help us
with your suggestions.

Thanks. Lavanya replied. Pls dont worry. I remember that one of my relative's daughter was of the same kind until she was 2.5 yrs...she takes 2 spoons of food and stays without food longer. As long as the ped says the baby is normal and active, nothing to worry. this habit will get settled down. as parents we will feel terrible to see the baby starving...but by nature babies always are of different kinds and they grow up somehow and thse these things really do not matter when they are grown up except that they will be under weight for sometime until they start eating. sudha replied. ajwain is nothing but warm wat we say in telugu.try that minx replied. What does the paediatrician say ? is her weight OK ?She may be having some stomach pain due to which she is not able to take more than a few spoons . Have you tried some colic drops or some ajwain/saunf water before food to make sure she doesn;t get gas or stomach pain while eating ?
