My 5 month old baby is formula fed and there has been a drop in her milk intake for the past two weeks. She has only 15 oz of milk as to the 32 oz she should be having. Also she has been having cerelac twice a day for the past month. She dislikes having water also. what to do?

Dear Arian,

Does your baby Take only 15oz the whole day or for one feed? In some children once u start semi-solid foods their intake of milk reduces as they are full from the Cerealc. Monitor her and see, dont panic coz no two babies r the same. Also which brand are u gining her? Try brands like Nan1 or Neselac which I believe are available in India also.

15 oz of milk a day is too less for a baby of 5 months. Milk is a very important part of the babies diet, try chaging the present brand of milk powder u r using, may be it could help.

Dear arian,

Do u get Promil there coz the kids normally like it as it has a vanilla flavour compared to the bland taste of Nan1. Once u start solid food the milk intake is bound to reduce, so dont worry. Keep Guage of her weight.

Love,
Indu.
