hi all,
is it possible for us to sponser visa for relatives(dad's sister & her husband).my aunt & uncle keep asking me to sponser visa for them & bring them to US.its really annoying for me as they have never done anything good to me in my life.they were also mean & were a pain to me.all these days i thought visa can be sponsered only for parents.but they were saying that we can sponser it to relatives also.is it true? if so how shld i tell them to avoid them from coming here.its spoiling the relationship with my hubby also,since he's getting irritated wid their expectations.i dont want to spoil my marriage for the people who never cared abt me.plz help....thanks in advance sweety replied. And trust me trust me trust me that most of the time it is a bad idea. We had called over 32 family members this way because our life back in India wasn;t that great.
Results...all these people freeloaded of my parents for like 8 years and made my mom's life living hell!

Do not worry.....

Its not possible... U can sponsor visa only for ur immediate family, blood relations...like dad,mom,sis,bro.. no one else....

However, the procedure to bring ur aunt is:

- U have to send an invitation letter inviting them to visit U.

- U have to show a certain amount of bank balance ..I think min $5000.

- They have to apply for tourist visa. They will give visa for 6 months to one year. But they have to show some dox (letter from their employers that they have 2-3 months leave etc) or confirm that they r coming back in 2-3 months.

- They too have to show bank balance/property etc.

- If ur aunt/uncle is working they have to show that they have come for visitng like they have come on 3 months leave and have to return to work.

- They have to tell the US comission that they r only visiting and do not have any plans to immigrate etc...

It is a very long process.....

My advice to U is:

- Tell ur uncle and aunt that ur bank balance is less and that U cannot sponsoor for them as of now and u will see later.....

Do not tell them anything else..... do not tell them to try for visa etc... do not give them hope.... just tell them not possible with this reason and leave it after some days they will get the message....

If u do not want them do not converse with them avoid them .. if they r unaviodable just tell them nicely ur not in a possition to sponsor right now and leave....

Hope I have helped u.... fd replied. No dear its not possible....now for sponsoring visa for permanent residency u need to have blood relation,,,,or husband wife...relation.....

Only for visitor visa u can sponsor for which u can say....that u need to have a good bank balance...as they will be with u .....

And frankly speaking....if theya re a pain for u...why bother, call them and tell them frankly that my husband is broke and we are out of job or give any such lame excuse and tell that its not possible....at times u have to lie for saving ur marriage or ur own valued realtion.
