hi,
i have a 11 mon old and she is still not chewing.though she has not got her teeth she is not using her gum either .if i try to give her upma or any rice like pulao she chokes onto it and vomits.i have to make a fine paste of the rice and give her.i'm really worried plz help

Hi ,

My son almost 1 year also has same problem - I realized that things like upma , idli are choking even for us. try adding some curd or liquid and mix it a lil and give. My son now takes at least few bits of cooked beans, carrots and dal rice while the rest we still mash and give

Do not worry.Mine was like that when i first started.Start when she is really hungry.She will take atleast first 4 spoons....try like that until she gets used to it and them make it a meal.
