Hi,
My 14mths old daughter is suffering from cold and ear infection, her ped has prescribed her antibiotics... but i am finding it difficult to feed her as she vomits it all the time..i tried adding it in her milk but she somehow smells it and refuses to drink it.
Please suggest some ways to give the medicine.
TIA
Ria

hi,
even my son had ear infection 2 weeks back .the doctor prescribed antibiotics.i was giving him before having milk.otherwise the same problem i was facing,he used to spit it or vomit.here they give a syringe kind of thing.its easier to give medicine thru it .i was initially giving some fruit juice n immediately putting the medicine in his mouth.

Hi ,

I am in the same boat. But we have started diluting with some sugar solution and giving. I also use a silver medicine dispenser ( called Paladai in Tamil ) with which I can put the medicine beyond my son's tongue so that he doesn't taste it too much. Tough job but it needs to be done.

Also before I give him medicine , I give him few mouths of juice or his favourite drink - then literally have to pinch his nose to make him open his mouth !!! After his medicine goes in , I make sure he doesn't start crying too much - rub his chest - don't lift him to put on your shoulder - this will make him vomit the medicine. Keep him calm for sometime on your lap - maybe put soem sugar granules or bournvita in his mouth as a reward.

Best of luck !
