Feeding:making porridge

Name: mom

Hi,

I was asked to start giving porridge for my 6 month old baby. But my porridge is not coming out well or I dont know if i'm making any mistakes. I fried Rice and moong dal in a dry kadai and powdered it. The powder is not too fine. I'm boiling that in pressure cooker for 3-4 whistles. But the porridge that I take out of cooker has lot of lumps in it. How much ever i try to mash it, those lumps stay.

Would straining that through a filter get sufficient nutrition for my baby? Would that be filling? Please let me know if my porridge-making process is right. Because of this I'm afraid to start on other grains like ragi.

Thanks in advance.

hi,

for making a porridge, u dont hv to fry rice n dal. what i do is take dal n rice in 1:1 ratio. the water shld be 4 times the total quantity of rice n dal. now put sm ghee in cooker, add ur rice n dal sm salt turmeric n any vegetable u want to. just give it 2 whistles n then on low heat for abt 6-7 minutes. good luck with it

don't make it in cooker.
take 1 formula spoon of powder add cold water in it...water should be plenty .i mean very watery mixture.

then put it on stove u have to stir it continuesly until get boil ...so it won't have lump then turn of stove and cover it.
make it this way...i m doing this . add salt and ghee.
