Trying since long:Please Help
2005-09-28
Name: IB

Hello all,
I have been ttc for the past three months and usually my cycle length is either 34 or 36 days. There has never been a delay and my periods have never been irregular. It has been 39 days since i got my periods this month and I have no pregnancy symptoms whatso ever except for lower back pain and stomach pain on and off. I tested yesterday in the night and i got a negative result in the home pregnancy test. I have a few questions
1) is it normal for anybody to miss a period when someones trying to conceive
2) Is there any specific time in the day that one should use a home pregnancy test
3) Are home pregnancy tests really accurate. Has anybody got a negative result at first but then tested positive later (i.e blood test in the lab)

Please shed some light as i am really desperate to have a baby just like many others in this board.
thanks
IB

Hi dear.. Like Vidhya said, it's possible that u might be preg. It is very much possible to get a false -ve test the first time. I suggest u wait for 5 days then test again.
Also, it's better to do the HPT on your first urine in the morning.
HPT's are usually accurate, but it is possible to get it negative on one.
Take care,
All the best.
Do share the good news!

Dear IB,
dont worry, there are many factors that can possibly delay ur period like stress etc....or u may possibly even be pregnant, may be it was a lil early to test(body may not have produced enough hormone to show up in the test)so wait for few days and take another test and if it still comes -ve,then consult a doc.Hope u get a BFP in a few days!

We have been married for the last 12 years. We are trying for a baby but unfortunately every time it's disappointing. I had 3 abortion, 2 Ectopic pregnancy, 1 IUI failure and 2 IVF failures. I had septum in the uterus and got removed. Since I had a history of ectopic pregnancies, both my fallopian tubes are tied. Due to the poor ovarian reserve ... - Malini [View Message]
