Last Year I came to US. I used to talk with anyone (whom I dont know also) just casual talk.
I observed one thing ,

95% of ppl (whom I spoke with ) asked me r u GC holder ? in the first Q itself or aftre a while talk :-)

Then 90% of pppl tend to ask abt my son's citizenship ? where did he born ?

I am just wondering y desi ppl tend to know abt
these things especially from u . Its not like close friends, neighbours ask abt this .. .even if I meet a person for 5 mins also in that gap they tend to ask abt it .

R u ppl facing this type of Qs ?

Hi Friend,you are talking about U.S but let me tell you that such people exist in india too.i live in Delhi and i find that most awful people live here.too bothered to know your personal life and then they start manipulating with you ,i keep on visiting U.S but had never experienced such an awful behaviour that i experience in Delhi di bh replied. hey here it is an issue of one being better than the other.In india its like how many houses and how many cars you have how much gold u bought this year and how many vacations. here it is replaced by Are you on visa or gc or citizen.If u are citizen there is nothing more left so are you having own house here. Its always a fight to prove yourself better than the other person . Its human nature dont worry. That can't be right, what kind of friends
or people are you talking to?

I live here in the United States and I
would never ever ask anyone about their
status. It shouldn't matter if this
person is a U.S citizen or a permenant
Resident.....What matter is that they
have the right to live here, and anyone
who have a brain, should think the same.

I am sorry, to hear that people here are
treating you like this....but, remember
whenever you find yourself in these
kind of talks..........just tell them
to shut-up, and to mind their own
business!!, beside: their are plenty of
other friends here that won't jugde you.

I too face the same questions. I often get irritated when people ask me these sort of personal questions...and these people are totally strangers to me. Especially that I am pregnant now and p lanning to go to India for personal reasons....the 1st question is \" Why do you want to go when you can get citizenship for the baby?\" some of them (not so close friends) also insist that I will regret my decision in future.....I am totally irritated by all this. Sowmya replied. They just want to know how long you been here.whether you are secure here or not?.if you don't want them to know you can say \" i am not interested in that, and i wannta go back\" .
