Feeding:Weaning Breastfeeding?

Hi,

I am still breastfeeding my 14 month old daughter. I feed her in the morning and night. The time of every feed is very less nowadays, because she doesnt want to feed for a long time. Also starting at 3 am until around 6 am she jsut wakes up and sits and cries for feeding. After these short feedings she falls asleep.but it is disturbing my sleep. Anybody experiencingthe same? I tried to give her horlicks mixed with milk, milo mixed with milk , banana milkshake, milk with sugar, plain milk. She refuses totake anything with milk. Can you please suggest what i can do?

Thanks.

hi,

ya its quite frustuating to wake middle of night n feed them but babies are thirsty n hungry so they wake up.dont worry as days will passed they will b able to hold their thirst n hunger.my baby used to do same till 18 mths till i was giving her BM at night but as soon as i stopped her night feed she stopped waking at nights.

u try giving her dinner arond 7.30 to 8 so before sleep gv her 200ml milk.so she will try to hold her hunger at night.dont worry sometimes they are also insecure n BM is just a feeling of security.

take care
sonu

Hi Sonu,

Thanks for your reply. But, i give her dinner around 7:30 and give her breastmilk from 10:15 pm onwards and she falls to sleep (i dont know when because i also cosleep with her). She starts waking up from 1 am onwards until 6 am (when i get up and leave the room to cook) and feeds like 2-3 min every hour. And the worst point is she doesnt drink any other milk. So it is difficult to give her anything before bed.

Thanks.
