hi.. i need a small advice.. my daughter is november born... she will be 21/2 this june 2008. do i put her in a play school first and then shift her to regular school.. what do i do? i am confused whether to start her nursery at 21/2 years or at 31/2... some schools take only if the child has completed 3 for the academic year...each school has its own age criteria.. but i am sure of one thing.. i dont want to push my daughter too hard... i feel she should enjoy her childhood and also learn at the same time....do give me your opinion so that i can decide what to do..
thankx!!

most of the schools admit to nursery if the kid complete 3 yrs in June. But there are some schools who admit in 2.5 too. S suggest u put her in nursery or M1 at 3.5 so that she will at 1st stndrd at 6.5 . That is good enough, becoz no one is going to get govt job in future days.

Hi,

I have a september born son whose is going to play achool now. I put him in school when he was 2 yrs 8 months. Play schools will generally be learning thru play and fun which the child normally enjoys. It helps them to mingle with other children , make friends etc. If you' re in Bangalore then the eligible age for LKG in most of the good schools is 4 yrs complete which I feel is the ideal age to start regular schooling. Till then the child can go to nursery/play school. You can also put her in Montessori school where the eligible age wud be 21/2 yrs for Montessori-0. So I feel you won' t be pushing your daughter too hard by sending her to play school at 21/2. But make sure you choose a school that is near to your home....easy to get her ready in the morning for school.

Hi ..
thanx for ur suggestion... i have kind of made up my mind to send her to a playschool and then at 3.5 send her to a regular school.. i know that in bangalore, the child needs to complete 4yrs to go to LKG.... but here in hyderabad, there are some schools who take them at 3 or 3.5.. and these are supposedly the good ones.....but there are a few schools here wherein they take only at 4 yrs for LKG.... and now being the admission time, i thought i should take a good decision and not repent later on...
thanx and bye!
