i'm in US from past 3 years.as u all know car driving is the basic requirement here.as soon as i came here i took up the driving classes. but i really have very bad road fear.so i'm still stuggling to drive.so i'm totally dependent on my husband to go out anywhere.so my husband is really pissed off because of this & he keeps insulting me.what hurts me the most is he keeps comparing me to other girls & he has started admiring those girls who r smart.so i desperately want to learn driving & prove to him.but i'm very scared if i'll end up in an accident.i have lot of road fear.i've till now never taken car on the road.can anyone plz give me some tips to overcome this fear & learn car driving perfectly.ur help & tips will be really appreciated.thank u Priti replied. You just have to forget about you fear. There are so many people driving, you husband has been driving -- if everyone can drive, why should you be scared? tell whatever you need to tell yourself to get behind the wheels. anything that motivates you. i wasn't scared just nervous, i even froze taking the test, i was driving and stopped at a stop sign and didn't move, so i had to take the test again. but you just have to do it. imagine, your husband isnt' around to help you, how are you going to get yourself anywhere. just do it. so what if others honk you. just have look in all the mirrors and drive. the more you drive the more you'll get confident. do it at night, when there's no one on the road. practice, practice, practice--you can do it, never give us.

I completely agree with sneha.if you dont lose your fear and get to the road you cant do it.just go once and see atleast to your nearby supermarket.i learnt driving when i was pregnant with my second one.due to fear i never did that.but when i got pregnant i thought i will never be able to do it when my baby arrives.so there si nothing to fear.at first go after 10 in the morning so traffic will be less. sneha replied. i had the worst road fear here in us ...but in three months i am driving well ..believe me you just have to try and keep ur fears aside.i used to literally sweat while holding the driving wheel ,i had bad dreams ,i did lots of mistakes ,hearrd lots lots of honking ...but i learned ...u have to do it my dear ...if not today then some other day then you will regret that you wasted so many years because of fears
i just thought of my 9 months dauhter as my inspiration that if she stops walking due to fea r of falling then she will never learn to walk
